Our philosophy
Sandsprite is a small kennel — by design. We produce roughly one litter a year, planned around temperament and structural soundness first, with working ability and conformation close behind. Every breeding female is hip-scored before being bred, and we don't chase volume.
That patient approach has paid off: our lines include an Australian Grand Champion, eight Australian Champions, and titleholders recognised in Canada, Luxembourg and Norway, with dogs living and working in Germany, Canada and the USA.
The Australian Kelpie
The Kelpie is a medium-sized, athletic working and herding breed developed in Australia to handle livestock in tough conditions. They're intelligent, loyal and famously high-energy — brilliant with an active family or a working role, but not a breed that thrives left idle.
We breed to the official Kelpie standard: a compact, hardy dog with a keen, alert expression, weatherproof double coat, and the stamina to work all day.
